Cox Communications: Connecting the Disconnected

For over 15 years, NüPOINT has proudly served as an extension of Cox Communications’ public affairs team in Southern Arizona. We’ve worked hand-in-hand with Cox to foster strong relationships with government entities, the media, community organizations, and the general public, ensuring that Cox’s objectives align with the needs of its external stakeholders.

One of Cox’s primary goals is to address digital inequality in Southern Arizona. To support this effort, NüPOINT developed and launched Tucson Connected, a community-focused public-private campaign. The campaign aimed to bridge the digital divide by connecting underserved groups, including lower-income families with school-age children, job-seeking adults, and older adults looking to stay connected with family and the world.

NüPOINT’s strategic approach began with in-depth community profiling to understand the specific barriers these groups faced. We then crafted a suite of bilingual materials, carefully reflecting the needs and values of each audience. The messaging reached the community through various channels, including bus shelter ads, flyers, radio spots, press releases, and a dedicated website.

This multifaceted campaign garnered widespread recognition, earning an ADDY Award from the American Advertising Federation’s Tucson Chapter for its authenticity and impact in amplifying underrepresented voices. Through Tucson Connected, NüPOINT and Cox Communications continue to make strides in creating a more inclusive and digitally connected Southern Arizona.
